Twitter goes berserk as Messi misses Penalty

by Intern June 16, 2018

It was not an eventful day for the Argentinan who missed a penalty

In what an enthralling game, Iceland held Argentina to a 1-1 draw. Argentina had the ball, possession and domination, but that were not adequate enough to defeat Iceland, whose defence was incredible.

Sergio Aguero scored the opener, but Finnbogason equalised 4 minutes later. Argentina’s star player Messi tried his best, but couldn’t enervate the Iceland defence. However, one thing will haunt him again and again as he shot a penalty, only to be denied by Iceland keeper, Halldórsson, who was incredible this night.

This is how Twitter reacted to it.

Nino this is Iceland vs Argentina. They are WARRIORS for crippling Messi like this. They havent been able to counter-attack bc they are giving their BLOOD to defend. I find it admirable. https://t.co/eVEg9V6uX6

Poor from Messi. To be fair to Iceland they did the exact same thing to Ronaldo and Ronaldo was VEX after the game lol

Argentina can’t keep going to Messi. These man need a different game plan. Way way to reliant on him.

Messi is, and never was, a natural leader. He’s more comfortable in Barcelona because he knows the team he knows how to play well in it. He doesn’t have that with Argentina.
