Tushar Bhosle’s hattrick helps Juhu Strikers clinch a 5 goal thriller against Sahar Silver Star

As many as six 2nd division matches took place in the last week here, in St. Xavier’s Ground,Parel. While Classic FC went atop the group A, Tushar Bhosle sizzled with a hattrick to help Juhu Strikers clinch a thriller against Sahar Silver Star. Friends United sprang off a surprise victory as Indian Gymkhana, Milan FA and Charkop FC register identical victories in the round-up presented.

2nd Division, Group C : Indian Gymkhana (Sachin 59)  1-0  Youth Soccer A (Mulund)

Indian Gymkhana inflicted sixth defeat for Youth Soccer A (Mulund) in course to register their third victory of the season on Sunday. It was the solitary strike from the super-sub Sachin Soun in the second half which made the difference between the two sides helping Indian Gymkhana to leap onto the third spot with 11 points.

2nd Division, Group A : Classic FC (Faizan 21)  1-0  Sagar SC

Faizaan Ansari scored a first half winner for Classic FC and got red-carded later in a dramatic group A clash against close rivals Sagar SC. It was an ill-tempered match where 4 prompt marching orders were carried out as Classic FC had to finish the match with 8 men after Waleed Ansari, Tarique Shaikh and the goalscorer Faizaan were sent off while Chetan Dhanu made it to the list for Sagar SC. This victory was much-needed for Classic FC as they now top the chart with 14 points from 7 games with Das FA breathing down their neck.

2nd Division, Group A : Milan FA (Saurav 71’)  1-0  Samuel FA

Saurav Nikam snatched a late winner for Milan Football Academy to earn the second victory for Milan FA in this campaign so far when they overcame bottom placed Samuel Football Academy 1-0. While Milan FA improved by leaps and bound jumping to the 4th spot with 7 points from 5 matches; Samuel FA ‘s search for their first elusive victory continues as they fail to improve in the standings.

2nd Division, Group H: Friends United FC (Akash 7’, 43’)  2-1  Vision Rescue ( Vibin 4’)

Earlier in the week Friends United FC dealt a surprise blow to Vision Rescue when they came from behind to clinch their first victory in the campaign. Friends United FC rode on a spectacular brace by Akash Yadav after they had fallen behind in the 4th minute itself, courtesy an early goal by Vibin Venugopal of Vision Rescue. This was the first defeat suffered by the NGO side as they now lie at the 3rd position with 14 points, just behind Lakers FC and SRS Sporting in group H.

2nd Division, Group G : Juhu Strikers (Tushar 21’,30’, 52’)  3-2 Sahar Silver Star (Bernerd 13’,24’)

Juhu Strikers defeated Sahar Silver Star in a five goal thriller riding on a brilliant hattrick from Tushar Bhosle. Sahar Silver Star looked well poised in the earlier part of the match when they drew the first blood in the 13th minute and repeated the feat 10 minutes later through Bernard D’Souza, but Tushar had much of him left to come as Juhu Strikers notched up a great comeback victory which sees them jump to 3rd spot with 15 points.

2nd Division, Group H: Charkop FC (Mandar 5’)  1-0  Veera United FC

It was a similar scoreline in group H where the group toppers Charkop FC peeped past Veera United FC by a solitary goal as both the teams have now played out all of their stipulated group stage matches. 9 men Charkop FC generated an early lead through Mandar Kurlekar and managed to avert further change in the scoreline to finish the group stage on a high, at the top with 22 points as they are all but confirmed of qualification to play-off. VUFC’s fate, now hangs in balance as they finished third with 16 points.
