Super Division: Father Agnel & FC India bags wins
9th April 2018, Mumbai: In the last couple of days, two MDFA Super Division matches were contested. Juhu Sparks met Father Agnel in Group A while FC India ‘MFC’ played St. Paul’s in a Group B encounter. Father Agnel picked up a crucial win, whereas, FC India continued their superb form with a 2-1 victory over St. Paul’s at Goans Sports Association Ground, Churchgate.
Group A: Juhu Sparks 0-2 Father Agnel (Shreyash 58′ and Ajit Kumar 71′)
Father Agnel produced a determined performance to overcome Juhu Sparks 2-0 in an important Group A clash. This was Fr. Agnel’s second win of the season in five games while Juhu Spark’s misery continued with another defeat. It was Shreyash’s strike in the 58th minute and Ajit Kumar’s 71st-minute goal which sealed the win for Father Agnel. Their backline also played an instrumental role in keeping Juhu Sparks’ attackers at bay for the larger share of the match.
Group B: FC India ‘MFC’ (Jackson Koli and Manish Koli) 2-1 ST. Paul’s S.C.
In a Group B encounter, FC India ‘MFC’ continued their undefeated run with a hard-fought 2-1 win over struggling side St. Paul’s. This was FC India’s fourth win in five games this season. Jackson Koli opened the scoring after converting from the spot before St. Paul’s equalized.
It was Manish Koli’s late strike which secured a win for FC India ‘MFC’ as they look forward to gaining a promotion in their first season itself.
