14th March 2018, Mumbai: On Wednesday, a total of three games was played at the St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Sahyadri Krida Mandal played Dadar XI in the First Division while Mumbai Rush faced FC Mumbaikars and Samuel FA encountered Sagar Mitra Mandal ‘B’ in the Second Division. Rajin Mehta’s hat-trick ensured a big win for Samuel FA while one goal proved enough for Sahyadri Krida Mandal and Mumbai Rush to pick up crucial wins.

1st Division – Group E: Sahyadri Krida Mandal (Arjun Singh) 1-0 Dadar XI

Sahyadri Krida Mandal secured their second win of the season after overcoming a spirited Dadar XI side 1-0 at St. Xavier’s Ground (Parel) on Wednesday afternoon. So far, Sahyadri has played seven games, winning two, drawing twice and losing thrice. Meanwhile, Dadar XI is sixth with seven points, a place below Sahyadri.

It was Arjun Singh’s sublime strike which separated both sides in a thrilling contest. Both the outfits missed several opportunities throughout the game but it was Arjun’s calm and cool composure in front of goal which helped his side secure a crucial win.

2nd Division – Group C: Mumbai Rush (Fabian Anthony 46′) 1-0 FC Mumbaikars

Mumbai Rush Soccer Club continued their domination in Group C of 2nd Division after registering their fifth win of the campaign in a narrow 1-0 win over FC Mumbaikars at St. Xavier’s Ground (Parel) on Wednesday. It was FC Mumbaikars’ first loss of the campaign. They have played eight times, winning thrice and drawing four times.

Mumbai Rush is leading the table with 17 points in eight games, three points above second-placed Millat FC ‘B’. Meanwhile, FC Mumbaikars is fourth in the standings, tied with Jolly Boys who have a superior goal difference. In a nervy encounter, it was Fabian Anthony’s 46th-minute strike which gave Mumbai Rush all three points.

2nd Division – Group A: Samuel FA (Ganesh Ganega 6′, Rajin Mehta 22′, 23′ & 35′, Nikhil Shetty 25′ and Harshad Dudhwadkar 38′) 6-0 Sagar Mitra Mandal ‘B’

Samuel FA won their first match in eight attempts after registering a whopping 6-0 win over Sagar Mitra Mandal ‘B’. This win helped Samuel FA to leapfrog Sagar Mitra Mandal ‘B’ who was at the bottom of the table prior to the match. Both the outfits have won once in eight matches in what is an underwhelming season.

Ganesh Ganega opened the scoring before Rajin Mehta hit his peak form to score two quick goals in the 22nd and 23rd minute. Nikhil Shetty added the fourth goal just a couple of minutes later when Rajin completed his hat-trick in the 35th minute with a superb strike.
