Rumours: Real Madrid set to sign Colombian player

The midfield sensation has certainly impressed Real Madrid and the latter is eager to secure his services

Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid after helping the side clinch their third consecutive UEFA Champions League trophy. Real Madrid appointed former Spain coach Julen Lopetegui to replace Zidane.

When Zidane announced his resignation, he left a squad with the mentality to perform in the biggest stages of World, but one that lacked consistency and depth. To overcome and to steady their ship, Real Madrid need to offload many players and recruit talented players to their roster.

FIFA World Cup has, time and again, been a stage where teams find players who suit their tactics and this edition of the quadrennial event is no a different.

According to reports in the AS, Colombian midfielder Juan Quintero has, with his performance in the World Cup, certainly managed to impress Real Madrid.

Colombia are currently sitting third in the table and they need a victory against Senegal to ensure a spot in the knock-out rounds, but Juan Quintero has already left an impression.

Julen Lopetegui has coached Juan Quintero while at Porto and that will certainly help the former understand the capabilities and weakness’ of the latter.
