ONGC annihilate Mumbai Strikers 7-0

3rd February 2018, Mumbai: MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Elite Division resumed earlier today where ONGC faced Mumbai Strikers. ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation) got back on track after a crushing 7-0 victory over Mumbai Strikers at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri.

Mumbai Strikers were left bewildered in front of an organised unit. All the players from ONGC played their part today who showed confidence, hunger and grit which helped them to record the biggest win of the Elite Division 2017-18 season.

Right from the kick-off, ONGC looked sharp and composed on and off the ball. Throughout the game, they kept on winning back the ball possession quickly which helped ONGC to launch a counter-attack.

Lalmuanpuia opened the scoring in the 7th minute which was followed by Ben Ankrah’s strike just three minutes later. Ben went on to play a crucial role in today’s big win as both, defensively and attacking, the strong number 4 stood out than the rest.

Prolific striker Himanshu Patil made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute with a terrific finish to put the game beyond any doubt inside the first thirty minutes. Things got bad for Mumbai Strikers when Prathamesh Kasare scored a venomous left-footed strike from the edge of the box which struck the upright and went in just before the break.

In the second-half, Lalmuanpuia scored his second goal of the game after Enock Annan provided him with a beautiful assist. Enock added ONGC’s sixth in the 83rd minute before Nitesh Monde set up Palzor Lepcha who scored the seventh and final goal of the game to complete a memorable win against Mumbai Strikers.
