MDFA: Tarun Sporting top 1st Division group C table, Alfresco start off with a win in 3rd division Play-off

Tarun Sporting came out with dominating performances to smash a 5-1 win over Catholic Gym, Meanwhile in 3rd division, Alfresco secured the first win of 3rd division play-off round with a 2-1 win

1^st Division:

In the afternoon group C fixture, Tarun Sporting played out their fourth win of the campaign to beat Catholic Gym and hold their top spot in group table. Kaushal Meher opened the scoring for Tarun Sporting with his 15^th minute strike which was doubled by Oliver Aitolya moments before the break. The second half began with some cagey stuff but as the game neared to its end, goal scoring spree ensued as four goals were scored in the space of nine minutes.

Somnath Naskar added the third goal in the 71^st minute before Ajijul Goyen added another one minute later. Avesh Shaikh scored the consolation goal for Catholic Gym in the 76^th minute before Olivar completed his brace in the final moments to finish off the game. In the other first division fixture, Desperados SC coasted to a comfortable 2-0 win over Blitz Kriez FC courtesy of goals from Sagar Gawde and Ivan Reddy on either side of the break.

3^rd Division Play-Off:

Meanwhile in the 1^st game of the 3^rd division Play-off Group A, Ruffians FC (A) played out a goal less draw against Renaissance. In the Group D game, Alfresco FC edged Judean 2-1 to pick all three points. Amir Sayed came up with a brace with goals on either side of the half-time break, to give his side the first win of the play-off campaign.
