MDFA Super Division: Round-up

19th February 2018, Mumbai: Over the last four days, the MDFA Super Division has witnessed a total of five matches which was played on RCF Ground (Chembur), Mumbai Football Arena (Andheri) and Goans Sports Association (Churchgate). Bankers Derby ended in a stalemate, St. Sebastian continued their fine run of form along with FC India and Air India U19, whereas, ESIC recorded their first big win of the season.

15th February 2018, RCF Ground (Chembur): St. Sebastian (Dalton Wilson 45′ and Umesh Kamble 70′) 2-1 Income Tax (Raj Trivedi 90+2′)

On Thursday, in-form side St. Sebastian encountered Income Tax in a Group C match. St. Sebastian made it two wins in as many games with a narrow 2-1 win against Income Tax who has been struggling this season. Dalton Wilson’s strike in the stroke of half-time was followed up by Umesh Kamble’s fine goal in the 70th minute which had put St. Sebastian in a comfortable position. Income Tax did score but it was too late, too little as they suffered yet another loss.

16th February 2018, Mumbai Football Arena (Andheri) – FC India (Kunal Mhatre 31′, Shaun Ferrao 39′, Chinmay Tadkari 54′, Agnelo Picardo 41′ & 71′ and Manish Koli 49′ & 80′)  7-0 West Zone United

Friday saw the meeting between newly-founded side FC India facing West Zone United in Group B match at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri.  FC India’s excellent performance continued as they romped to a cracking 7-0 win. This was West Zone United’s third straight loss this season where they are lying at the bottom of Group B. It was Agnelo Picardo and Manish Koli’s twin strikes which were joined in by Kunal Mhatre, Shaun Ferrao and Chinmay Tadkari’s goal apiece.

18th February 2018, Goans Ground (Churchgate): ESIC (Egypsio Noronha 24′, 74′ & 86′, Ajinkya Umasare 18′ & 86′ and Alroy D’Souza 80′) 6-2 Soccer XI (Pravin Kawade 21′ and Arham Patel 46′)

Yesterday, ESIC finally earned their first win of the Super Division campaign with a whopping 6-2 win against Soccer XI at Goans Sports Association (Churchgate) in a Group C match. Former Kenkre FC’s striker Egypsio Noronha bagged a sublime hat-trick while Ajinkya Umasare bagged two goals along with Alroy D’Souza who also got on the scoresheet. Meanwhile, for Soccer XI, Pravin Kawade and Arham Patel scored a goal each.
