MDFA Second Division results and updates

1st January 2018, Mumbai: The last couple of days saw a total of three Second Division matches which was played at the St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Castle Boys SC and Sagar Sports Club romped to victory while Dadar XI (B) and Sagar Mitra Mandal (B) played out a draw. Here is the Round-up:

28th December – Group A: Dadar XI ‘B’ (Revelinho Fernandes 45′) 1-1 Sagar Mitra Mandal ‘B’ (Prathamesh Harmalkar 60′)

In a late kick-off on Thursday, spoils were shared when Dadar XI (B) played out a 1-1 draw against Sagar Mitra Mandal (B) under the floodlights at St. Xavier Ground, Parel. After a cagey start from both the sides, the deadlock was broken when Revelinho Fernandes scored in the 45th minute for Dadar XI in a spectacular move.

But Sagar Mitra Mandal responded brilliantly after the break when Prathamesh Harmalkar levelled the score with a sublime strike to rescue a point for his side.

29th December – Group G: Castle Boys SC (Brendon D’Mello 2′, Wayne Trindade 12′, 47′, 70′, Rahul Salian 28′ and Souvardhan Shetty 45′) 6-0 Naval Dockyard

A day after Dadar XI ‘B’ and Sagar Mitra Mandal ‘B’ played out a draw, Castle Boys SC registered a whopping victory when they thumped Naval Dockyard 6-0 in a one-sided affair at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Wayne Trindade was the hero for Castle Boys as he scored a prolific hat-trick.

It took Castle Boys only two minutes to open the scoring when Brendon D’Mello fired past Naval’s goalkeeper. Wayne scored his first in the 12th minute before Rahul Salian made it 3-0 just before the half-an-hour mark. Things got worse from bad when Souvardhan Shetty increased the lead to four goals just before the break.

Wayne completed his hat-trick in the second-half after scoring twice in the 47th and 70th minute to complete a resounding victory.

30th December – Group A: Milan FA 0-1 Sagar Sports Club (Yogendra Meher 48)

On Saturday, Milan Football Academy locked horns against Sagar Sports Club in a Group A encounter of MDFA Second Division at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Sagar Sports Club rose to the occasion to breeze past Milan FA 1-0 with a fine performance.

The lone goal was scored in the 48th minute when Yogendra Meher scored a fantastic goal to give Sagar Sports Club all three points in a crucial match.
