MDFA Elite: Century Rayon, CBI play out 1- 1 draw

Central Bank of India were held to a 1-1 draw by Century Rayon in a closely contested MDFA Elite division encounter.

With games in hand, a profligate CBI failed to capitalize on their chances against Century Rayon to close down the gap between table toppers ONGC.

The game began with Central Bank of India twice having an early chance to take the lead but failed to capitalise on the opportunities. Century Rayon soon came into the game with attacks of their own but failed to break the deadlock either as the game entered in to break with scores still 0 – 0.

Second half began with Century Rayon showing positive intent on attack, and was soon rewarded with a goal when Worchupei Kashung’s strike beat the keeper to find the back of the net. However the lead didn’t last long as five minutes later, Deepak Pal’s schoring shot on a volley turn out to be the equalizer as the score was back on level terms.

Century Rayon had few more opportunities later on however CBI keeper Sidharth Lavande pulled off some crucial saves to keep the score line at level till the final whistle. The draw keeps both sides unbeaten in the league and while Century Rayon played out their 3rd consecutive draw, CBI have loosened the pressure on table toppers ONGC after dropping 2 crucial points.
