CFCI and Bombay Muslims registers comfortable win

17th December 2018, Mumbai: On Monday, a total of two matches were played in the MDFA Elite Division (Private Group) at the Cooperage Stadium. Bombay Muslims played Salcette in the early kick-off while CFCI encountered Spartan RSF in the other game. CFCI and Bombay Muslims both started their Elite Division campaign on a positive note with a comprehensive win.

Bombay Muslims (Omkar 75′ & 87′ and Shlok 47′) 3-1 Salcette (Sahil Muhane 25′)

Bombay Muslims came back from 1-0 down to seal a comprehensive 3-1 win over Salcette FC in their opening game of MDFA Elite Division. Bombay Muslims displayed fighting spirit and it was only after they conceded, they grew into the game as the proceedings progressed.

Salcette’s Sahil Muhane had opened the scoring in the 25th-minute with a delicate finish but his solitary goal didn’t turn out to be enough. After keeping the possession for the majority of the match, Bombay Muslims finally equalized in the 47th minute through Shlok who had a great outing. Omkar snatched two late goals in the last quarter to seal the match 3-1 in favor of Bombay Muslims.

CFCI (Vaibhav Karpe 23′, Rishon Sam 34′ & 73′, Ishant Singh 66′, and Karthik Bele 79′) 5-0 Spartan RSF

In the second game, CFCI proved too good for Spartan RSF as they registered a whopping 5-0 win in their maiden Elite Division game. It was a collective effort by CFCI which completely blew apart Spartan RSF.

Former Mumbai FC player Vaibhav Karpe opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before emerging talent Rishon Sam doubled the lead ten minutes from half-time whistle. CFCI continued from they had left in the second half. Rather than defending their two goals lead, they went all-out-attack to increase their lead.

Rishon Sam scored another in the second half along with Ishant Singh and Karthik Bele which rounded off an incredible 5-0 win.
