Century Rayon to face in-form Air India on Friday

by Siddharth Yadav February 22, 2018

22nd February 2018, Mumbai: On Friday, Air India will look to maintain their unbeaten streak against a confident Century Rayon side at Cooperage in the MDFA Elite Division encounter. Century Rayon is heading towards the match on the back of a 4-2 loss at the hands of Western Railway while Air India recently lifted the 111th edition of RCF Nadkarni Cup title after defeating Union Bank of India (UBI).

The Rayon’s is not having a good season as they are struggling to catch up with the momentum. The former Super Division is looking to find a new rhythm to cope up with the rest of the teams.

Century Rayon’s attack has drastically improved though. The likes of Warchuipi Kashung, Thatcham Vashum, Winner, Sunil Mane and Sagar Bedekar has improved recently which will surely help them against Air India.

But their opponent Air India has been on an insane run so far. They are yet to drop a single point this season and recently triumphed in the Nadkarni Cup which was held at RCF Ground, Chembur. The young core of Air India – Pratik Koli, Advait Shinde, Rinaldo Fernandes, Sagar Khanvilkar are having a terrific season.

Playing alongside the likes of Vijith Shetty, Santosh Koli, Aaron D’Costa has helped them in honing their skills and abilities. A win will surely strengthen Air India’s chances to defend their title while, on the other hand, even a point for Rayon will help them to survive this season.
