BPFL: Semi-Finals Preview

12th August 2018, Mumbai: 12 teams started this journey a month back and now we are down to just 4 teams. We are edging closer to the conclusion of a yet another successful Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL) campaign. Later today, both the semi-finals is all set to be contested at the St. Francis D’Assisi Ground, Borivali. Defending Champions Fleetfooters will lock horns against ND2 Soccer Starz, whereas, Milan Club will play Maryland United in the other semi-final.

Fleetfooters vs ND2 Soccer Starz

Defending Champions Fleetfooters will be facing ND2 Soccer Starz in the first semi-final in the quest to book their place in a yet another final. ND2 Soccer Starz has a huge task to overcome Fleetfooters who are yet to lose a single game this season. ND2 Soccer Starz’s journey has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride as their campaign was hanging by a thread at one stage. Now both the sides must leave their group stage campaign behind and concentrate completely for this semi-final clash.

Fleetfooters has some of the best players from Borivali in their side. The likes of Merwyn Fernandes, Tushar Poojary, Keegan Pereira, Umesh Perambra and Karan Amin are just some of the few names from Fleetfooters. They are surely the favourites but ND2 Soccer Starz’s game plan will play a huge role as they themselves have a handful of game-changing players.

Dhuval Waghela, Prathamesh Nalavde, Allwyn Chettiar, Lanster Fernandes are having a great campaign and will be surely going all-in to deceive their counterparts.

Milan Club vs Maryland United

The second semi-final will be as anticipating clash as the first semi-final. Milan Club, just like Fleetfooters, will be aiming to qualify for the final, having played the last year’s final as well. They lost to Fleetfooters on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in normal time. Milan Club has surely a more balanced side than last season but Maryland has been equally impressive this season.

On one end, Milan Club has scored the most number of goals this season, whereas, Maryland has had a good defensive unit overall so far. There is absolutely no room for error when these two sides will meet later today. The likes of Sunny Thakur, Nachiket Palav, Siddharth Shetty and Ankit Dalvi are the game-changers for Milan Club while Christopher Fernandes, Brendon Fernandes, Ashirwad Hedge, Mohith Gatty has been quite brilliant for Maryland and will be crucial in today’s encounter.
