BPFL: Milan Club’s unbeaten run continues, Vibrant off the bottom spot

Day 8 of Borivali Premier football league concluded with three Group B games which saw Milan Club cementing their top spot while Vibrants FC lift themselves off the bottom of table with a win

In a highly entertaining opening game of the day, Group B favourites Milan Club and ND2 Soccer Starz squared off each other with the former cementing the top spot honours by the end of the game. Amey Bhatkal’s sensational hat-trick gave Milan Club an early lead but an inspired second performance from ND2 Soccer Starz brought them closer to earning a point but falling short by a goal. Dhuval Waghela and Prathamesh Nalavde early 2nd half goal reduce the deficit by a goal as the game became interesting in the dying minutes. Despite best efforts in the final minutes, Soccer Starzs failed to find the equalizer as the game ended at 3-2.

Game 1: Milan Club 3 – 2 ND2 Soccer Starz

In the 2nd game of the day, Challengers FC were back to their winning ways with an emphatic 5-0 win over Shelar SC after having faced a close 1-0 loss in the previous game against Milan Club, Ethan luke Rozario and Ajay Saroj struck a brace while Mayur Shirke chipped in with one goal to complete the 5-0 rout. With this win, Challengers FC retook their 2nd place in the points table with 7 points in 4 games alongside ND2 Soccer starz.

Game 2: Shelar FC 0 – 5 Challengers FC

In the final fixture of the day, Vibrants FC finally earned their first points of the campaign with a 3-1 win over Kajupada FC. After a cagey first half, where neither side managed to sneak in a goal, second half began with a bang as a two quick goals from Nidhin Joseph and Kunal Mane gave Vibrants FC a 2-0 lead.  Although Shrirang Gole reduced the deficit soon, Daiwik Rao struck immediately after to quash comeback hopes as the match soon ended with 3-1 score line.

Game 3: Vibrants FC 3 – 1 Kajupada FC
