WIFA Secy Vaz, CEO Menezes included in AIFF sub-committees

Mumbai, March 24: WIFA (Western India Football Association) Hon. Secretary, Souter Vaz and CEO, Henry Menezes have been appointed in the AIFF (All India Football Federation) Standing and Judicial Sub-Committees. Vaz has been included as a member of the League Committee, while Menezes is the Deputy Chairman of the Technical Committee, which is being headed by Shyam Thapa. Abhishek Yadav, COO of the India junior team for the 2017 Under-17 FIFA World Cup and Head Scout of the AIFF, is also a member of the Technical Committee.

Other football enthusiasts from Mumbai, who are part of the AIFF Sub-Committees include Anjali Shah, co-founder of PIFA Football Academy, Olympian hockey player Dr Vece Paes, ex-Indian striker Godfrey Pereira and referee Walter Pereira.

Anjali has been included in the Women’s Football Committee, Dr Paes is heading the Sports Medical Committee as the Chairman. Former India centre-forward and current Air India coach Pereira another representation from Mumbai is part of the Disciplinary Committee, while Walter Pereira has been appointed as a member of the Referee’s Committee.

These appointments were made during AIFF’s Executive Committee Meeting which was held at Football House, the AIFF Headquarters, New Delhi on Thursday.
