Struggling Churchill Brothers look for a positive result away at DSK Shivajians

Friday, 20 January 2017: On Saturday, DSK Shivajians host Churchill Brothers in the fourth round of Hero I-League 2016-17 at Balewadi Stadium. Both managers, David Rogers and Alfred Fernandes, are looking for a positive result, in tomorrow’s match.

Churchill Brothers coach Alfred Fernandes said, “We come into this match with a mission; to get points.” He added, “In the first three matches, we played to our potential, displaying good performances, but the results did not go in our way.”

Churchill Brothers have lost all of their three matches, with the last two defeats coming at home. “It is seen, against big clubs such as Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, you cannot make silly mistakes — which cost us valuable points.”

“The team missed on a couple of chances, in the opening match against Mohun Bagan. In the second match, at home to Mumbai, we scored the first goal. But could not hold on to it, as we conceded a goal in the final minute. In the last match, we lost to East Bengal, despite playing a good match, tactically,” Coach Alfred Fernandes expressed.

The away team is yet to record any points on the table, in this season’s Hero I-League. “We are playing good football. Hopefully, tomorrow’s match can be a turning point for us to put points on the board,” Coach Alfred Fernandes mentioned.

DSK Shivajians managed their first win of the campaign, last time against Chennai City. Talking about tomorrow’s opponents, manager David Rogers expresses, “It is great to see Churchill Brothers back in the Hero I-League. They are a good addition to the league.”

Coach David Rogers said, “Churchill Brothers have got good players. They have a good manager. In this league, anyone is capable of beating anybody, on the day. If you do not prepare the right way and underestimate opponents, then you can face problems.”
