A Step towards professionalism in Mumbai Football

In a bid to improve professionalism around teams in lower divisions of Mumbai football, MDFA cancels a game for a lack of proper kit.
With call for professionalism the need of the hour in Indian Football, MDFA takes a big step in implementing it starting from the lowest division itself. In the firsts of its moves, MDFA decided to cancel out an entire game after a team came late with improper kits.
In a third division MDFA encounter between Group N teams, Adarsh FC was supposed to face Xmens Sports Academy for an evening 4PM game. However Xmens team didn’t arrive on field till 4:20PM and when they did they came out with improper kits. In order to curb this unprofessional behaviour, MDFA intervened to cancel out the entire game.
Proper kits for players will now be compulsory and any team that fails in it will not be allowed to play. Also clubs are expected to follow the schedule and arrive to games on time so that there is no deduction in playing time for a game to be squeezed in.
MDFA will be now strictly monitoring these issues and if any team is found at mistake then not only the match will be called off but also the team in fault will lose the match giving their opponents a simple walkover with 3 points and 3 goals difference as advantage

With football making waves around the country in line with the upcoming U17 World Cup as well as India’s rise in Football ranking, the call for professionalism among clubs has been high. Clubs in the lower divisions of football have been known to be indiscipline regarding arrival timings, improper kits etc. While these clubs are never been on national exposure, these mistakes have been neglected for far long.
However in order to improve these mistakes, MDFA has now come out with strict notices. A welcome step, for the betterment of the game, in Mumbai football circuit.
