Rhema SF hold Jupiter at 1-1 to share the spoils

MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association)

St Xavier’s, Mumbai: Rhema SF held Jupiter to a 1-1 draw in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), First Division matches held at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017.

This Group A match was the first to be played under the lights on Tuesday evening as both Rhema SF and Jupiter looked to grind out three points.  But they could manage only a point each as the teams had to share the spoils after a 1-1 draw.

The side to come out all guns blazing was Jupiter who capitalised on their chance and it was Yamik Holkar who put them in front in the 20th minute. The first half failed to have any more goals. Naturally, with a one goal lead, Jupiter made no nonsense errors to concede. At halftime, Jupiter led 1-0 thanks to the Holkar goal.

In the second half, it was Rhema SF’s turn to go forward in search of the equaliser and they did find it. No.7 Kiran Jadhav netted the equaliser turning the game over its head. The momentum back in Rhema’s favour. With pretty much everything to play in the final minutes, both teams had a fair share of chances but the lacklustre final third attack did not result in any goals. The Full-Time score being Rhema SF 1-1 Jupiter.
