Podar International bounce back with a 5-0 win

24th June 2017: After suffering a 3-2 defeat at the hands of United Poona SA, Kolhapur’s side Podar International registered a comprehensive 5-0 win against Rahul FC in the Group ‘A’ clash of WIFA (Western India Football Association) Women’s Championship at Cooperage Stadium on Saturday morning.

After Bodyline’s Karen Pais netted a hat-trick in the previous match, Podar International’s Pranali Chauhan also scored a hat-trick to lead her side to victory against Rahul FC. Unlike yesterday’s match against United Poona SA, Podar didn’t commit the same mistake and improved where they were actually lacking.

Podar kept the majority of the ball possession and dictated the play all the way from their backline. The first goal came in the 15th minute when Pranali Chauhan’s low shot comprehensively went past Rahul FC’s goalkeeper Sonakshi Bhutani. Nine minutes later, Pranali once against punished Rahul FC’s defense with a sublime goal to increase Podar’s lead by two goals.

If not for Sonakshi Bhutani (Rahul FC goalkeeper), they would have easily conceded a lot more. But even Sonakshi’s reflexes couldn’t stop Pranali’s brilliance. Midway into the second-half, Pranali completed her hat-trick with a superb strike from inside the box.

In the dying minutes, Yashshree Deshmukh and Aditi Patil scored one each to complete a fine 5-0 win and bounce back from their earlier defeat.
