ONGC’s Elite Division campaign to go underway tomorrow
5th December 2017, Mumbai: Last season’s Elite Division runner-up and former I-league side ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation) will kick-start their top-flight campaign against Central Bank of India (CBI) on Wednesday evening at Cooperage Stadium.
ONGC is the only side in the Elite Division who is yet to play any match this season. Their opponent Central Bank of India (CBI), on the other hand, will be playing their third match of the season after drawing and losing in their first two matches.
Just like Air India, ONGC has been very synonymous with Mumbai Football for a very long time. In the 2015-16 season, Mumbai FC scored an injury-time goal through Rohit Mirza against Air India which helped ONGC to lift the title. Last season, Air India took a sweet revenge by getting hold of Elite Division title.
The last season’s runner-up must take care of CBI’s attack if they want to kick-start their campaign with a win. The likes of Andrew Burthelo, Sudeep Maschi might become a problem for ONGC.
The match will be played at 03:00 pm, Cooperage Stadium.
