Minerva Punjab FC look to continue unbeaten run

As Mumbai FC take on Minerva in the Sunday’s fixture, both team looks confident of getting the win on the back of recent improved performances. Unbeaten in five games one of the newest I-league club Minerva seems to be on the roll.

As visiting coach agreed about it too “In the beginning it was difficult but we have improved the team is gelling well and boys have performed so the results are good.” When asked about the results being expected or beyond it, Coach opined that his team could still do well and will only improve, while also adding that his team is very fit and without any injury concerns.

The Gaffer looked prepared about his opponents, Mumbai FC, who have improved from six consecutive losses to two draws against two top teams Mohan Bagan and Bengaluru FC, ”Definitely, they are a good team, drawing against MB and BFC, they have also managed to win their first two home games so it will be tough but we are prepared.”

When asked about his foreign recruits performances, the coach looked satisfied about it, ”The Centre back have definitely strengthened our defence and others have done well too, Ivan hasn’t got goals but he has still done well, winning balls and helping the team.”

Mumbai were shocked in the reversed fixture and will be raring to turn things around this time. When asked about the preparation, the coach replied, “Excellent I believe, we were in a bad phase and we couldn’t win last time around, we couldn’t play to our abilities in the away game and also away matches are always challenging. But since then we have improved coming after 6 losses to two draws against Mohan Bagan and Bengaluru FC.”
