MDFA: Atlanta FC start 1st division with a 4-1 win

The day saw hat-tricks galore with as much as 4 players scoring a hat-trick for their teams. While Alex Fernandes scored for Atlanta FC in 1^st division, 2^nd Division saw  Surendra Shingde strike 3 for Rudra FA while JMJ Sports had two hat-tricks in Daniel Fernandes and Merwyn Fernandes

1^st Division:

Dadar XI (A) team lose out to Indian Culture League as the latter took the top spot in group E with two wins in two games. After a goal less first half Anand Pawar came up with two goals in the space four minutes to make it 2-0 as ICL took the lead. Mid-way through to the 2^nd half, Shubham Pose struck a third for his team as the score read 3-0 in the end.

Game 1: Dadar XI (A) 0 – 3 Indian Culture League (Anand Pawar 47’, 51’, Shubham Pose 70’)

In a group F Fixture, Atlanta FC opened their campaign with a 4-1 win over Young Guns FC. Juventus D’mello opened the scoring for Atlanta in the 13^th minute before Alex Fernandes doubled the lead in the 36^th minute. Young Guns returned from break with vigour as they pulled one back through Rahul Sachdev’s 63rd minute. However Alex came back with two quick goals to complete his hat-trick while Atlanta picked up all three points with 4-1 win.

Game 2: Atlanta FC 4 (Juventus D’mello 13’, Alex Fernandes 36’, 69’, 80’) – 1 Young Guns FC (Rahul Sachdev 63’)

2^nd Division:

After going two games without scoring Rudra Faced Godrej & Boyce who held with two clean sheets and smashing 5 goals in the mean time. However things turned out reverse in the third game as Rudra FA (A) picked up a huge 6-0 win against Godrej & Boyce. Abhishek Jadhav scored a brace while Surendra Shingde scored a hat-trick with Jason contributing with one as Rudra FA picked their first win of the campaign.

Game 3: Rudra FA 6 (Abhishek Jadhav 14’, 36’, Surendra Shingde 22’, 35’, 47’, Jason Billing 51’) – 0 Godrej & Boyce

Coming on the back of two wins Datta Krida Mandal faced JMJ SC to look for third, however the latter ended up hammering seven past the hapless Datta KM defence to jump over to the third spot in the group F. Datta Krida Mandal who were reduced to 10 men after Anirudh Kadam got sent off found it hard to dea with their opponent’s attack as Daniel Fernandes and Merwyn Fernandes each scored a hat-trick of goals while Kevin Barnes slotted one to complete the 7-0 routing.
