MDFA: Akash Valmiki guides Bombay FC to all three points

Millat FC (B) and FC Mumbaikars (A) play out a 2-2 draw in 2nd division while Akash Valmiki’s solitary goal gives Bombay FC all three points in 1st division

1st Division:

Chheda Nagar fanatics, who opened their campaign with a 2-1 win, faced Bombay FC, who were playing their 1st game in a group F fixture. After a sluggish start Akash Valmiki’s 25th minute strike put Bombay FC in to lead. Despite late attempts the score-line remained same as Bombay start off campaign with all three points.

2nd Division:

In a group C encounter, Millat FC faced off against FC Mumbaikars who had a chance to go on top of the group table with a win. FC Mumbaikars took the lead with Aditya Swami striking an 18th minute goal. However In the second half two quick goals from Faraz Khan and Shanawaz Saleji sent Millat FC in to lead. But a late strike from Vikas Howal settled the game to a 2-2 draw.

Game 2: Millat FC (B) 2 (Faraz Khan 45’, Shanawaz Saleji 52’) – 2 FC Mumbaikars (A) (Aditya Swami 18’, Vikas Howal 70’)

In another game, IIT Bombay (A) faced off against ICL U-19 for a group F fixture. Coming from a three back to back wins IIT Bombay looked forward to making it four. The intention was clearly visible as the team rod off to a quick lead in just the sixth minute courtesy of Vishal Jaitley’s strike, however Akshay Thakur immediately struck back to make it 1-1 for ICL U-19. Later in the game Goal scorer Akshay was given the marching order after receiving second booking of the day.
