MDFA 3rd division: United Villagers, Alfresco pick up easy wins

Football returns to Mumbai after the two days rain break as United Villagers and Alfresco FC pick up easy wins, while Om Sai club produced a brilliant performance to overcome a 2-goal deficit to win 3-2 in MDFA Division 3

The opening game of the day saw Judean United SC register a 1-0 win over KJS College of engineering courtesy of a first half goal by Prakash Singh

Game 1: KJS College of Engg. 0 – 1 Judean United SC (Prakash Singh 16’)

An inspired second half performance from Om Sai Dham meant the club overcame a 2 goal first half deficit to win 3-2. Javed Sayed and Sumit Madgi had put Sanpada FC in driver seat with 2 first half goals. However Om Sai came back stronger as Pratikshe Handa’s 38th minute strike reduced the gap. Three minutes later Tejas equalised to bring the scores on level terms. Gaining confidence from the two quick goals, Om Sai took lead when Darryl D’silva hit the net with just ten minutes to full-time.

Game 2: Sanpada FC (Javed Sayed 19’, Sumit Madgi 28’) 2 – 3 Om Sai Dham SM (Pratikshe Handa 38’, Tejas Borkar 41’, Darryl D’silva 50’)

The third game saw United Villagers W cruise to a comfortable win over NYASS with a superb second half performances. After a goalless first half, United came out with all guns blazing. Four minutes in to the second half, Melborn struck the first goal to start of the proceeding, a minute later, midfielder Brijal doubled the lead. Soon Godson added his name to the list to make it 3-0. Finally in the 49th minute Brijal hit his second of the day to wrap up the game 4-0.

Game 3: United Villagers W (Melborn 34’, Brijal 35’, 49’, Godson 40’) 4 – 0 NYASS

The last game of the day saw Alfresco FC trample over their opponent with a huge 6-1 win. In a high fast paced game, Alfresco opened the scoring through Baven Parmer’s 14’ minute strike that opened the floodgates. Dylan Monterio and Amir Sayed soon made it 3-0 in the space of 3 minutes. Manges SA pulled one back in the 19th minute to make it 3-1 however Rajesh Sonkar’s strike the very next minute pulled back the pressure. In the second half, Baven and Dylan added two more to the list to complete thier brace as the game ended at 6-1.
