MDFA 3rd Division: Soares’s brace gives Renaissance a second win

While Renaissance continue with their 2nd successive win, BPCL and Soccerstar Rudra FA picked up their first wins of the campaign on Day 17 of MDFA 3rd Division
The day opened up with a game between BPCL (Ref) and Victorians FC. A second half strike from Lobo Hillary sealed the game for BPCL as Victorians failed to equalise till full time.
Game 1: BPCL (Ref) (Lobo Hillary 26’) 1 – 0 Victorians FC
In the second game, Renaissance faced off against Liyakat Ali FC. An evenly contested affair ended in the favour of Renaissance courtesy of Loardes Soares’s goals on either side of the half. Saquib Muqrt’s goal in the 31st minute had pulled the game back on level terms after Soares’s 14th opener. However In the 40th minute, Soares struck his second of the day as Renaissance took the lead and eventually the game.
Game 2: Renaissance (Loardes Soares 14’, 40’) 2 – 1 Liyakat Ali FC (Saquib Muqrt 31’)

In the mid afternoon game Soccer Star Rudra FA picked up a comfortable 2 – 0 win over Salcette FC. Anas Baig opened the scoring in the very second minute after which Arjuan Verma doubled the lead in the 31 minute, Salcette FA failed to break Soccerstar defence as the game ended at 2-0.
Game 3: Soccerstar Rudra FA (Anas Baig 2’, Arjun Verma 32’) 2 – 0 Salcette FC
The fourth game of the day between Azad Nagar and St. Rock FC ended in a draw after both sides managed to score just once. Aman Shaikh opened the scoring for St. Rock after which a 13th minute strike from Tejas pulled Azad Nagar on level terms. Both the sides then failed to breach each other’s defence as the game ended with sharing of points
Game 4: Azad Nagar Utsav Samiti (Tejas Salian 13’) 1 – 1 St. Rock FC (Aman Shaikh 7’)
The penultimate game of the day was between Sagar Mitra mandal and Pioneer residency. Second half goals from Rehan Naqwa and Suraj Sonawane gave Pioneer an easy 2-0 win
Game 5: Pioneer Residency (Rehan Naqwa 38′, Suraj Sonawane 45′) 2 – 0 Sagar Mitra Mandal
The final game of the day was between RCF Colony boys and SSE United. A first half goal from Balachandra Patel turned out to be the winning goal as SSE United despite good efforts failed to break the resolute RCF defence.
