MDFA: 3rd Division Round-up of 02-04-2017 at MSSA Ground

MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association)

Mumbai: St. Rocks and Rudra Football Academy register wins as the rest of the teams struggled for goals in the 3rd Division of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) matches held at MSSA venue on 2nd April 2017.

3rd Division – Group A

Rudra Football Academy 1-0 Young Boys ‘B’

Rudra scored the only goal of the game mid-way through the first half when the Young Boys’ defence was caught off guard. Ansari Afaque was shown his second yellow card of the game for unsporting behaviour.

3rd Division – Group G

St. Rocks 2-0 Milan FA

St. Rocks literally rocked Milan FA’s defence when they scored two quick-fire goals on the 21st-minute mark through Praful Jhadav and on 23rd-minute mark through Vivek Thakur. The two goals were enough to see out the game for St. Rocks as they registered the win.

3rd Division – Group B

Future Star Academy 0-0 Mubarak Hunters FC

Future Star Academy were held to a scoreless draw as they were up against a resilient Mubarak Hunters side. Future Star created a lot of chances but none of them were clear cut as they struggled in the final third. Mubarak Hunters did their best to stop them in any way possible as their three players ended up in the referee’s book.

3rd Division – Group D

Marouli United 0-0 Madanpura FC

Both teams struggled to find the rhythm throughout the game as there were very few chances created at either end. The keepers barely made a save as both defences were on top of their game.

3rd Division – Group H

FC Mithagar 0-0 Millat FC ‘B’

This was the third continuous 0-0 game of the day. Neither teams could penetrate the oppositions defence as often as they would have liked it as the attackers struggled to create the chances. Both teams shared a point each at the end of the day.
