MDFA 2nd Division: Shastri Nagar register first win after opening game loss
After a narrow 1-0 loss in their opening game of campaign, Shastri Nagar came out stronger with a 4-0 win over Marouli United. In other game, Mother Teresa FC pick easy win in MDFA 2nd Division
The day opened with NB challengers FC facing their first game of campaign against Our Lady of Fatima in a Group H fixture. The match ended in a goal less draw as neither side managed to break open each other’s defence. With the draw both teams opened their second division campaign with a point apiece.
Game 1: NB Challengers FC 0 – 0 Our Lady of Fatima
In the second game for group E fixture, Shastri Nagar faced Marouli United FC with the former picking a comfortable 4-0 win rubbing off the opening game 0-1 loss to get back on to the 2nd division campaign. Mohan Chauhan opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the game before John Ferrira came up with a brace in the second half to make it 3-0. Minute after the third goal Nikhil Singh scored the fourth one to complete the routing of hapless Marouli United FC who failed to break Shastri Nagar’s defence..

In the last game of second division for the day, Miners FC played Mother Teresa Foundation for a group F fixture. Kringel Pakori’s brace (14’, 45’) either side of break along with Godson’s late strike (65’) gave Mother Teresa FC all three points to start their second division campaign on a high note. At the other end Miners FC succumbed to their second consecutive 3-0 loss of the campaign.
