MDFA 2nd Division: Sajid Ansari’s hat-trick gives Bombay YMCA 4-1 win

A splendid performances from Sajid Ansari gives Bombay YMCA a big win while Companeros SC make it two wins in two games in 2nd division encounters
In a group E encounter, Poinsur Gymkhana faced Companeros SC (B) for their second round game. Both teams came in to the game on a back of contrasting result in their opening fixtures. While Companeros came from a win, Poinsur faced a 4-0 defeat in the first game. The game started with Poinsur on back foot from the very first minute. George Vaz scoring the opening goal for Companeros, however in the 17th minute Poinsur equalised through Swapnesh Jadhav to make it 1-1. But that joy was short-lived for Poinsur when in the very next minute Suresh Suthar found the net to put Companeros back in to lead. There were no goals after that has the game ended at 2-1 score with Companeros leading the group E table with six points.

In the second game, Sporting options faced off against Bombay YMCA for a group G fixture with the former picking up a comfortable win. Adnan Ansari opened the scoring in the 11th minute goal to start of the proceeding; seven minutes later Sajid Ansari doubled the lead to make it 2-0. Soon Sajid completed his brace in the 22nd minute as YMCA made it 3-0 at the break. When play resumed Stafford Britto pulled one back for the team immediately after the restart. But Sajid Ansari made it 4-1 in the 48th minute in the process completing his hat-trick. The game ended at 4-1 score line with YMCA topping the group G standings.
