Lakers FC defeats Supreme FC in Second Division

29th December 2017, Mumbai: A total of two matches were played on the 27th (late kick-off) and 28th December which saw a game each from First and Second Division at the St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Lakers FC played Supreme FC on Wednesday night while Desperados SC met Steadfast (A) on Thursday afternoon.

Second Division (Group B) – Lakers FC (Rupesh Shetty 27′ & 60′) 2-1 Supreme FC (Mohan Poojari 37′) 

On Wednesday, under the floodlights, Lakers FC continued their fine run as they registered a narrow 2-1 win against Supreme FC in an exciting Group B encounter in the Second Division. Supreme FC’s disappointing season continues as they suffered yet another defeat.

Rupesh Shetty opened the scoring for Lakers FC before Mohan Poojari levelled the score in the 37th minute with a spectacular strike. Lakers FC’s resilience and patience paid off in the second-half when Rupesh bagged another goal which turned out to be decisive as Lakers romped to another victory.

First Division (Group B) – Desperados SC (Roshan Karmaran 74′ & Kallat Ethen 80+3) 2-2 Steadfast ‘A’ (Oliver Bennis 58′ & 59′)

On Thursday afternoon, Desperados SC made an incredible comeback to snatch a crucial point against Steadfast ‘A’ in a thrilling 2-2 draw in Group B encounter of First Division. Prior to the match, Steadfast had won all their three games while Desperados had won twice in three games.

Steadfast’s winning streak came to a half after Desperados displayed a gritty and determined performance. After a goalless first-half. two goals in two minutes by Oliver Bennis gave Steadfast ‘A’ a brilliant 2-0 advantage but Desperados struck late, not once but twice to somehow snatch a draw.

Roshan Karmaran cut short the deficit in the 74th minute before Kallat Ethen equalized in the injury-time to rescue a point for Desperados.
