J.M.J Sports Club off to a winning start in the 2nd Division opener

21st September 2017, Mumbai: The newest season of Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) 2nd Division has gone underway today at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel with 3rd Division Champions J.M.J Sports Club faced Miners (B) in the 2nd Division opening match of Group F.

In what turned out to be a one-sided affair, J.M.J Sports Club left no stones unturned as they displayed a spectacular performance to register a thumping 3-0 victory against their counterpart Miners (B).

J.M.J dominated the midfield and dictated the match proceedings for the major part of the match. Mervyn Fernandes, Christopher Sequeira, and Reuben Fernandes combined well to wreaked havoc against a hapless Miners (B) side.

Rohan Kadam opened the scoring for J.M.J in the 16th minute with a wonderful strike before doubling the lead eight minutes later to put his side in the driver’s seat. In the second-half, Miners (B) stepped up their form but couldn’t manage to find the killer instinct in front of the goal.

On the other end, J.M.J remained calm and focused. With the match heading towards the dying minutes, Mervyn Fernandes wrapped up the game with a sublime goal to give J.M.J Sports Club all three points and a dream start ahead of their 2nd Division campaign.
