The second week of Indian Super League gave the Indian football fraternity with some quality football, and glistering game. While Bengaluru FC and Pune City FC starred during this sunday, the other matches of this week were up to the mark as well with both defenders and attackers were at the focal point.

Let’s take a look at the top 5 players of the week,

Partaalu had an incredible match against Delhi Dynamos for Bengaluru FC. The former A-League star defender scored a brace, providing immensely to the 4-1 win of his side. The Austrailian was a consistent presence in the midfield for his team, and did well to orchestrate the play for them. Both of his goals came from set-pieces and both of his goals were headers.

Marcelinho

Who remembers Marcelinho? Every Indian fans. This would be their common answer. Marcelinho took ISL in storm last year, and turned this cash-rich league into his hunting ground. His tremendous partnerships with Malouda and Co had paved way for Delhi’s semi final journey. This time, Marcelinho is not with them, but is with the league, but in the colour’s of Pune. Marcelinho failed to make any impact in the first game, but all doubts about his form were faded after his stunning performance for them. Marcelinho reminded us his past and was dynamic for Pune, and his talent was pivotal for Pune in making the renowned goal keeper in Debjith Majumber a helpless man.

The Brazilian wizard, Rapheal Augusto is the one to orchestrate the play for the Marina Machans since the previous edition. The youngster who’s got some serious skills has been instrumental at the flanks for them. He had a brilliant week with Chennaiyin FC, and his performance has caught the eyes of the Indian football fraternity as Chennaiyin trounced Northeast United FC. His gelled up perfectly with his partners, and this was what, that really helped Chennaiyin surpass the highlanders test.

Paul Rachubka

He was among those foreign signings Kerala Blasters fans and pundits have criticized alike. His signing intensified the uproar in social media about Rene’s promise to sign quality youngsters. But all those criticisms have seen the phoenix in Paul Rachubka, and to be frank, his indomitable presence has undoubtedly helped Kerala stand still unbeaten. His denying the powerful Kervens Belfort header at the later stages of the show at Kochi was just splendid.

Echille Emana

After a drab opening game against Bengaluru FC, the Cameroonian midfielder produced an inspired performance in Mumbai City FC’s 2-1 win over FC Goa. Despite having nothing to show for his performances in terms of goals or assist. Emana was a force in the midfield driving the highlanders attacks. The attacking midfielder justified his coaches trust upon him after the Mumbai gaffer explained, how important he will be for Mumbai City FC this season.
