Central Railway race to a 3-0 win over Serco Intellinet, Mumbai FC yellow thump LIC

MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association)

Mumbai: Central Railway got the better of Serco Intellinet by 3-0 in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), Super Division, Group C match held at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Monday, 3rd April 2017.

Central Railway dominated the match and had most of the ball possession taking their chances in the final third. The breakthrough arrived in the 14 minute when Akshay  Kamble put Central Railway in front. A 1-0 lead they deserved since the start. Serco got their first chance in the 20th minute, an open chance put wide by Sheldon Benny. That was a good chance for 1-1 but Central Railway still led 1-0.  The Railway boys kept themselves busy in the opponent half but lacked the final finish in front of goal. At halftime, the score remained Central Railway 1-0 Serco.

Serco were doing good on the attack. A few good attacking moves almost got them an equalizer when Pranay Sharma had a one on one chance but was fouled by Pradeep Kumar, the Central Railway goalkeeper just outside the box. It was 50-50 call and he received a yellow card. A debatable decision that could have been a red as well for the harsh tackle and the result would have been something else.

As we moved ahead in the second half, Central Railway stamped their authority on the match doubling their lead. Sumesh K.S the scorer in the 54th minute who scored a wonderful goal from 20-yeards with a neat placement in the far side of the goal. The final nail in the coffin came in the 74th minute when a long clearance from Arun E.K created confusion in the Serco defence who did not read the situation well. And it was Sumesh K.S who made good presence of mind to head the ball over the keeper in the back of the net. A 3-0 deserved lead  & 3 well-earned points for Central Railways.
