Carmelites and E.S.I.C both win their First Division matches 3-1
St Xavier’s, Mumbai: Carmelites raced to a 3-1 win over Franco FC in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), First Division matches held at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Thursday, March 30th, 2017.
With three points in sight, Carmelites FC were the first to open their account when No.17 Amir put them in front. No.19 Aditya Bane equalised for Franco FC in the 29th minute. No.10 William Fernandes gave Carmelites the lead in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, it was No.9 Denzil Maschrenas who restored their two-goal cushion for the Carmelites FC as Franco FC failed to get back in the match.

No.13 Alroy D’Souza opened the scoring for E.S.I.C in the 11th minute. No.16 Johnson equalised for the Goans in the 32nd minute. Just when we thought that the match would not produce more goals E.S.I.C pounced upon two errors to take a 2-1 through Ajay Mane in the 40th minute. Alroy D’Souza scored his brace in the 45th minute to take the sting out of the game. Coupled with some resolute defending E.S.I.C churned out three points.
