1st Division: Bombay FC scores 10, while Malwani and Miners draw
28th November 2017, Mumbai: On Tuesday, MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association 1st Division witness two games at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. The first match was played between Group F teams Bombay FC and Vidya Vikasini Theresians, while the second match was played between Malwani SC and Miners FC in a Group A contest.
Bombay FC 10-0 Vidya Vikasini Theresians
In what was a one-sided affair, Bombay FC thumped Vidya Vikasini Theresians by registering a whopping 10-0 victory in Group F game at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel.
Hemant Shaikh opened the scoring in the 3rd minute before Dhiraj Pagdhare and Charles Fernandes made it 3-0 with two quick goals.Bombay FC’s attack proved too good for Theresians to handle as they kept attacking for the rest of the match.
Astonishingly, each of them from the trio of Hemant Shaikh, Dhiraj Pagdhare and Charles Fernandes went on to score a hat-trick in a rampage. While Lavish Patil scored the other goal.
Malwani SC 0-0 Miners FC
In the second and final game of the day, Malwani and Miners played out a closely-contested game which ended in a 0-0 stalemate at the St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Both the sides had their chances but the lack of killer instinct in front of goal was missing in an eventful draw.
