Bombay FC finish third in MDFA U-16 Youth League

31st December 2016: As the year was on the cusp of coming to an end, Bombay FC made sure to end 2016 on a positive note after overcoming Bharat FC 5-4 in penalties in the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) U-16 third-place match at Lions Club, Santacruz on Saturday morning.
After a cracking start, both the energetic side produced an amazing display of football which turned out to be a treat for the spectators as the final day of the tournament headed towards the conclusion.
Bombay FC and Bharat FC did came across numerous chances for throughout the game but didn’t manage to open the scoring in normal time as the tie ended 0-0.
Kamran Siddiqui, Narendra Singh, and Rohit Gowda had a fantastic match for Bharat FC, whereas, Kartik, Nihar, and Isaac Mehta turned to be ones to watch out for in Bombay FC.
In the penalties, Bombay FC held their nerves to ran out as winners after a nail-biting penalty shootout. Santosh, Chirag, Kartik, Isaac and Ashley converted their spot kicks to make it five in five.

Meanwhile, Bharat FC missed one of their spot kicks as they finished fourth in MDFA U-16 Youth Champions Tournament. Kamran, Narendra, Anuj, and Feroz had scored from the spot for Bharat FC.
Keeping aside the results, the more important aspect of this tournament was to set a platform for the young kids who aspire to make it big in the field of football. It turned out to be a great initiative by MDFA, WIFA, Mumbai City FC and Lions Sporting, which made it possible for the young talents in the city of dreams.
