Bodyline SC and United Poona SA ran out as winners

25th June 2017: Bodyline SC continued their superb form to trounce Poddar International 7-0 in the Group A clash of WIFA (Western India Football Association) Women’s Championship, while, United Poona SA scored four past Rahul FC at Cooperage Stadium on Sunday morning.

Bodyline SC headed into this match with a 7-0 win against United Poona SA yesterday, whereas, Poddar International also got the better of their counterpart after a 5-0 win over Rahul FC.

In what was expected to be close games, Bodyline SC and United Poona SA made sure the goals keep on pouring just like the heavy rainfall on Sunday morning.

Bodyline SC started off brightly when two quick goals by Rhea Rodrigues and Aditi Shetty put them in a commendable position. Bodyline never really lost the ball possession and kept dictating the play in Poddar’a half.

On the stroke of the half-time, a beautiful corner by Aditi Shetty was headed in by Reetika Sahani which made it 3-0 for the Mumbai-based club.

Reetika started the second-half from where she had left initially. A wonderful goal increased Bodyline’s lead by four goals.

Rhea scored yet another later in the second-half, while Ash D’Silva and Karen Pais also got on the scoresheet to complete the rout and top their Group.

In the other game, Aishwarya Balapure notched up a fine hat-trick which takes her goal tally to five goals in three games for United Poona SA.

Aishwarya had played a remarkable role in their opening game where they defeated Poddar International 3-2. The fourth goal was scored by Zelia in the 52nd minute.
