Babul Supriyo became the Vice President of the FIFA U17 World Cup Organising Committee

On Tuesday, Praful Patel announced the appointment of singer turned politician Babul Supriyo as the Vice-President of the organizing committee of the U-17 FIFA World Cup 2017 , which is scheduled to take place in India during October. 

Babul Supriyo , born on 15th December 1970, is an Indian playback singer turned politician. He is currently the Minister of State for Heavy Industries. He entered politics in 2014 and contested election for BJP. As a singer , he has worked in more than 70 Bollywood movies.

 

 

Soon the Congratulatory messages poured in. And when Shaan said that Babul Supriyo is an avid Indian Football supporter, he was cent percent right.

Babul, a die-hard supporter of Mohun Bagan and Indian football used to be a regular at the Kolkata Maidan.  

 

Though, there were some who even questioned Babul Supriyo’s inclusion in the U-17 World Cup Organizing committee and he tackled them quite gracefully.

A FIFA team is scheduled to visit India from March 21 to 27 for the final inspection of the facilities in the six cities which will host matches of the U-17 World Cup.

The FIFA u-17 World Cup will be held between 6th October to 28th October.
