Abrar Pathan’s hat-trick helps Boxer FA trounce SOSM

28th January 2017, Mumbai: Boxer FA played SOSM in the Second Division MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) held at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel, in what turned out to be a goal-fest as Nazir Khan’s team registered an emphatic 4-1 victory to earn all three points with comfort.

The Boxer’s started the game on a bright note as in the 20th minute Fazal Shaikh opened the scoring which went down to be the only goal in the first half of the game.

The second half again saw the leading side show immense grit as Abrar Pathan in the 34th, 36th & 42nd minute added more three to the score sheet making it four goals to nil.

Tauheed Khan from the leading side committed a reckless challenge on the opponent player which gave referee Irfan Shaikh no chance but to show him a yellow card in the 60th minute.

Yunus Mujawar efforts in the 64th minute pulled one back for the trailing side but weren’t enough as the match ended in a 4-1 victory for Boxer FA.

Another match results from the day: Suraj Jaiswal’s only goal (own goal) from Veniza Virar FC in the 14th minute secured all three points for Steadfast-Mumbai Rush in the First Division MDFA match at the same venue. Later in the 64th minute of the second half, atmosphere got heated up as Dhiraj Meher from the trailing side & Nehaal Salunkhe from Rush saw one red card each along with a yellow card to Ayaz Sayyed by referee Rakesh Pillai, but still Rush Steadfast benefited from the only lone goal (own goal) of the game as they won 1-0, which earned them all three points.
