Aadhar Pratishtan and FC Pune City in WIFA Women’s Championship semis

30th June 2017: The last Group Matchday of the ongoing WIFA (Western India Football Association) Women’s Championship concluded on Friday morning at Cooperage Stadium.

All the four semi-finalists have been confirmed now. From Group A, Bodyline SC (Mumbai) and United Poona SA (Pune) has made it, whereas, from Group B, FC Pune City (Pune) and Aadhar Pratishtan (Mumbai) has booked their place in the last four.

FC Pune City confirmed their berth today at Cooperage after defeating Tirpude FC 2-0 in a crucial Group B encounter. Two first-half goals from Senorita N. was enough for the Pune-based club to emerge as victors.

Earlier in the match, FC Pune City’s Pooja More had seen her penalty saved by Tirpude FC’s goalkeeper, but a fine performance from Senorita turned the tables on its head for Pune City.

The second match of the day saw KSA Women’s FC facing Aadhar Pratishtan where both the sides only managed to salvage a draw. The draw proved too costly for KSA Women’s FC as they burst out of the Tournament with their heads held high.

Bodyline SC will play FC Pune City, while, Aadhar Pratishtan will lock horns with United Poona SA in the semi-finals.
