5th Annual India Rush Soccer (IRS) Champions League

Mumbai Rush SC in association with Steadfast FC-Mumbai Rush SC has organised the 5th edition of India Rush Soccer (IRS) Champions League, scheduled to start from January 22, 2017.

A tournament that doesn’t just end with the prize money but also offers scholarships to young talents, below are mentioned a few players who have immensely benefitted from this endeavour. This year’s tournament is all set to provide even better, an opportunity for players to get scouted for Junior and youth i-league as well Steadfast-Mumbai Rush SC’s very own team participating in the MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association’s Division Leagues.

The tournament will be hosted across two venues in Mumbai: St. Andrews Turf Ground (Bandra) and St. Pius Ground (Goregaon), every Sunday until February 2017.

The “Grassroots” will include the age groups U8, U10 and U12′s, whereas the ‘Youth Level‘ will comprise of age groups U14, U16 and U18′s. All of these are six age groups will consist of 6 teams in each category.

Throughout IRS Champions League’s point of focus has been towards scouting young and talented footballers for development; providing these athletes with a professional setup at club-level to nurture their talent and skills.

Over the past four editions, several players have been scouted and have been enrolled into Steadfast – Mumbai Rush Soccer FC‘s under-16 and under-18 sides. Hamza, a scholarship winner at IRS Champions League has had an opportunity to train in the United States and, currently trains in Portugal. Similarly, Ridge D’Mello, an immensely talented young athlete, currently plays for India – also benefitted.

Cornelius is another fine example of a player who has earned fruits from the opportunity present at IRS Champions League. In last season’s Inter-District Sub-Junior tournament, the player was a vice captain for Mumbai – and has been a part of Steadfast – Mumbai Rush Soccer FC‘s team over two seasons in the Junior I-League.
