Vintage Dahisar’s vintage performance takes them to a 2-0 win over Das Football Academy

Vintage Dahisar defeated Das Football Academy by 2-0 in the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) , First Division match held on Wednesday afternoon at St Xavier’s ground Parel.

Vintage Dahisar proved to be too hot for Das Football Academy as a clinical performance from them enabled the team from Dahisar to cross the finishing line. The start looked nervy for both sides who failed to capitalise on each other’s mistakes. The tempo of the game looked slow in the beginning but later reached a new level when Das Footbal Academy had to make a comeback

Both the teams played catch up for the 40 minutes of the 1st half but it was Vintage Dahisar who went ahead in the 45th minute i.e 5 minutes into the second half. Number 14  Nishad Mandalkar came in as a super sub and netted the goal giving Dahisar a very very important lead. Nishad the coach of this Dahisar sqaud lead from the front scoring a lovely goal taking one touch to control the ball and slotting home with another. The story could have been very different had Das Football Academy strikers been clinical.

Das Football Academy boys tried to put up a surging display in the second half after they had conceded. But it was Dahisar who doubled their two goal lead. A vintage goal from number 8 Neelhar Khandagale in the 58th minute took the sting out of the opposition. Any attempts of a comeback was thwarted by this goal as Vintage Dahisar dictated the game with a no nonsense approach for the remainder of the game..

At Fulltime Vintage Dahisar boys rejoiced on an overall clinical performance whereas Das Football Academy will have to plan better for performing well in the competition next season. Everyone at Football Counter congratulates Mr Nishad Mandalkar for his man of the match performance leading from the front and guiding his team to victory.
