Match Report

Football school of India came from behind to snatch victory against Kenkre FC in the opening game of U16 Youth league(Maharashtra Zone) after injury time goal by Karthik Bele.

The game started with FSI taking an early lead in the 9th minute by Mohammed Kaif‘s goal, before Kenkre equalized in 21th minute, Jay Bhavnani scoring first of his three goals of the night. Meanwhile Marc Mendonica went into the books of referee Dinesh Yadav, for a foul in the 19th minute. Around 41st minute, the game saw the first substitution as Kamran Siddiqui was replaced by Pruthvi Sawant. The first half ended at score 1-1

Second half of the game saw a lot of action on the field. A minute after FSI’s second substitution in Manish Shingare replacing Kevin Soni, Kenkre went ahead with Jay Bhavnani scoring his second goal in the 57th minute. But FSI came back quickly to make it 2-2 in the space of three minutes, as Firoz Shah got into the scoresheet. In the 67th minute, Kenkre FC made their first change of the evening as Kishan Jadhav came in for Subodh Shah.

With 14th minutes of play left, Kenkre’s Defender William Chettiar was red carded for a bad foul. A minute later, FSI went ahead for the second time in the game as Mohammed Kaif scored his second goal of the match. Looking for equalizer, Kenkre brought in their second change, bringing in Moiz Lakhana in place of Sanaathan Sridhar. In the 86th minute, Kenkre finally managed to equalize through Jay Bhavnani’s third goal as he completed a well deserved hattrick.

But Late in the Injury time, Karthik Bele scored to put FSI back in front as Kenkre lost the game 4-3 to end the night on a disappointing note.
