The Hyatt Expat Premier League kicks-off on February 21 2016. Read more:

The Hyatt Hotels in India and Premier India Football Academy (PIFA), along with the Consular Corps Association of Mumbai (CCAM) brings together the Hyatt Expat Premier League starting from Sunday, 21st February 2016 at the Ascend International School campus in Bandra.

The tournament consists of 5 categories – Under-11, Under-14, Under-18 and open: men and women – year specification mentioned in registration form. Here are the general guidelines of the league:

  • Format: The Hyatt Expat Premier League is a 5 a side tournament.
  • Venue: Ascend International School, 5, ‘F’ Block, Govt. Colony, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai – 400051, India.
  • Age group: 5 Age categories – Under 11 years, Under 14 years, Under 18 years, Men & Women (year specification mentioned in registration form).
  • Team:
    Each team will consist of 8 players. 5 on the field plus 3 rolling substitutes.
    • There must be 3 EXPAT players compulsory on the field in men’s category only.
    • In case the team is short, an Indian consulate staff can participate or PIFA will provide a local player up to 18 years in which case the participation fee is to be paid by the consulate.
    • Only 8 teams per age category will be allowed to register.
    • Entries will be on first cum basis. So please do not delay in sending your entry. Teams can be booked immediately by paying the team participation fee, registration forms can be sent before the deadline.

In the previous season, last-year, the Hyatt Trophy for men’s team was won by Ivory Coast Consulate after a 1-0 win versus South Africa. The Alonso Cubs team won against United S.C. in the Under 18 group, Real FC beat Angry Bulls in the Under 14s and PIFA Cubs outplayed Madrid F.C. in the Under 11s category. Exhibition games were organized for the 3 team participating in the women’s group – Hyatt Swans and two teams from PIFA. Tricia Collaco from one of the PIFA teams won the best player award.

H.E Pule Malefane, who was playing in the 2015 finals for the South African Consulate team vs. Ivory Coast stated how the “Hyatt EPL was a great way to spend our Sundays.” “The spirit of the game was well-maintained throughout the tournament, making it a fantastic initiative for the kids to grow better as sportsmen,” the South African added in 2015.
