Tabish Mulla seals it for Tarun Sporting
A second division match was played on Christmas Eve at St Xavier’s Ground, Parel kicked off at 1:30 pm, where Godrej & Boyce met Tarun Sporting in a match earning the Reds ‘Tarun Sporting’ all three points in the game.
The Goal kick by the goalie in the 21st minute was intercepted well by Tabish Mulla who quickly tried an effort from the left flank but got into the feets of Ajinkya Umasare who made no mistake in tapping the ball past the keeper making it 1-0 for the Red team but soon in the 26th minute Gaurav Petwal for the trailing side equalized from a flicked header in the box making it all square at half time.
The impasse between Tarun Sporting and Godrej & Boyce in the second half, until the 51st minute was broken when Tabish Mulla made it easy from the left flank, dribbling past three opponent players and scoring a cracker from the centre just outside the box into the bracket leaving the keeper no chance but collect it from the back of the net.
The second-half goal turned out to be the match-winning goal of the game sealing it all for the Blues.
