St Sebastian’s play out an enthralling 2-2 draw with Millat F.C

Millat F.C rescued a point against St Sebastian’s in a 2-2 draw in the Mumbai District Football Association( MDFA), Super Division match held on Saturday evening at St Xavier’s ground, Parel.

Millat FC came into this game with a must win situation against St Sebastian who were looking to escape relegation. Income Tax were watching this as any result apart from a win for Millat FC would put them in the driver’s seat.

St Sebastian’s and Millat FC both played an end to end game. An St Sebastian had the best two chances of the half when their striker missed two one on one’s. The second being Millat FC keeper’s brave effort to come running out of goal and clearing the ball. On the other side , Millat FC played some beautiful football but failed to capitalise on the chances near the box. At halftime it was 0-0 with the second half still to go.

The second half was a roller coaster as it produced four goals. Millat FC scored first in the 47th minute when number 10 Farman Khans netted from a cross coming in from the right. Did well to control the ball before slotting it home. As it looked like they would make it 2-0, St Sebastian came back into the game making it 1-1. Number 19 Dalton Wilson crossed from the left with no one in the box. The ball hit number 5 Saalik Khan and went inside his own net in the 62nd minute. And just when they went to park the bus tactics there was a twist in the game. St Sebastian started a counter attack through which their player was fouled  inside the box earning them a penalty. Number 19 Dalton Wilson stepped up and converted the penalty to make it 2-1.

It was a huge mountain to climb for Millat FC as they now had to score two goals. Meanwhile St Sebastian parked the bus and were clearing all the balls near the box including the crosses coming in.

But in the 88th minute number 17 Runal Bhatt made a brilliant run behind the defence to cross inside the six yard box for number 5 Saalik Khan to score the equaliser. He made up for his mistake in defense after that own goal. Any attempts to make it 3-2 failed as at fulltime the match ended 2-2.

Income Tax benefit from this result as it now puts them in the driver’s seat.
