St. Sebastian FC outclassed Soccer XI 5-1 in Super Division clash

St. Sebastian FC showed fantastic teamwork and unity to outclass Soccer XI 5-1 in the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Super Division encounter at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri Sports Complex on Wednesday evening.

What defines the excellent teamwork of St. Sebastian F.C is that they had five different goal-scorers. Axel Peters, Troy Nunes, Allan Nunes, Dalton Wilson and Umesh Kamble scored one each to complete a resounding victory. Whereas, Shreyas Patil scored for Soccer XI.

St. Sebastian dominated the match proceedings right from the kick-off. Their passing, hold-up play was immense and they kept on creating openings. It seemed that the players quickly adapted their play which each other.

The first goal was scored by Axel Peters which was a stunning strike, Mukesh Singh delivered an incisive pass which was finished brilliantly by the number 17.

Soon after St. Sebastian’s opening goal, former R.C.F (Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers) striker Troy Nunes doubled their lead when Russel D’Souza send Troy through on goal, the latter took his time and scored past the goalkeeper.

Just before half-time, St. Sebastian scored their third goal through Allan Nunes who scored on a rebound when Mukesh Singh’s effort hit the woodwork and fell into Allan’s path. St. Sebastian went into the break with a three goal advantage.

The second-half was same as first-half as St. Sebastian once again dominated the proceedings. Dalton Wilson soon made it 4-0 for the men in white after a easy tap-in.

St. Sebastian’s fifth and the final goal came in the last stages of the match when Umesh Kamble was brilliantly set up by Dalton Wilson with sublime through ball, the former placed it past the goalkeeper to make it 5-0.

Soccer XI did score a consolation goal when Shreyas Patil brillianty volleyed in past St. Sebastian FC’s goalkeeper. With this win St. Sebastian seems like a serious title contenders.
