‘Soccer School of Excellence’ SSE Champions League

Soccer School of Excellence (SSE) is a football academy who has been making their name pretty synonymous with the Football fraternity in Mumbai over the last 7 years. SSE trains over 1000 players every week at 29 different centres and schools in Mumbai. The academy has set up a tournament for the young kids to promote grassroots programs in the city. The SSE Champions League, their flagship Junior tournament is entering their sixth season this coming Sunday.

The League will consist of six age group categories – Under-6, Under-8, Under – 10, Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16. It will be played at Karnatak Sports Association (KSA) Ground from November 2016 to January 2017.

Top schools like the American School of Bombay, Ascend International and B.D Somani International are participating in this upcoming edition of the SSE Champions League which will make this tournament exciting and the one to watch out for. In the recent years, such initiatives by a number of football academies have given a huge ray of hope for the young crops who needs a platform to showcase their skills and abilities.

Sectors like Non-Government Organisations (NGO) has also been involved in the SSE Champions League from their 1st season with teams from the SSE Foundation, Oscar India, and Magic Bus also participating alongside clubs like CCI and NSCI also taking part. An academy that now takes part in many tournaments across town – FootFun Academy (FFA) is also all set to feature once again in the SSE Tournament.

Over the years, SSE has seen many renowned Schools and Football Academies taking part in the SSE Champions League. JBCN International School, Fazlani International School, DSB (German School), Oberoi International School, Bombay International School, FFA, Bravehearts, Young Stars, Kings United, Galaxy Boys, Kooh Sports have all participated.

2014-15

In the 2014-15 edition of the SSE Champions League edition, Beaumonde Strikers (Under-8), SSE Tigers (Under-10), DSB (Under-12), and St. Anne (Girls Category) ran out as Champions in their respective age categories. This edition was well appreciated by the participants which motivated SSE to keep delivering high league standards.

2015-16

After gaining success, SSE introduced more age categories in the 2015-16 season in order to provide a much bigger platform for the youths. Messi FC (Under-8), N. United (Under-10), SSE Tigers (Under-12 League 1), Kooh Sports (Under-12 League 2), SSE Tigers (Under-14), and Bravehearts (Under-16) were the eventual winners in this edition of SSE Champions League.

Soccer School of Excellence, also, aspires to participate in the Youth/i-League in the forthcoming years.
