Sporting Clube de Goa vs Mumbai FC – Head to Head Report

Mumbai FC travel to Goa to face Sporting Clube de Goa on Sunday in the Hero I-League game to be held at the Fatorda Stadium. The two teams are separated by just one point going into the game. Khalid Jamil’s men will be keen to improve their away form. Mumbai FC are winless since their victory over now disbanded Bharat FC almost a year ago.

Sporting Clube de Goa have been in good form of late as they earned a famous win in Bengaluru despite being down to ten men, before a 1-1 draw in their previous game against local rivals Salgaocar.

There is very little to choose between Mumbai FC and Sporting Clube de Goa in terms of head to heads. Here is an analysis of the head to head record between Mumbai FC and our Goan counterparts.

Overall Head to Head Record

In the ten league matches between the Yellow Submarine the Flaming Oranje, seven games have ended all-square, while in the three matches that have yielded results, Mumbai FC have emerged victorious on two occasions, while falling to a defeat just once against the Goan outfit.

Mumbai FC’s last win over Sporting Clube de Goa came back in 2012, when Khalid Jamil’s men edged a 3-2 thriller at Pune’s Balewadi Stadium which was Mumbai FC’s home ground back then.

Head to Head record in Goa

Mumbai FC are yet to secure a win in Goa against Sporting Clube de Goa in five attempts. But on the positive note, Mumbai FC have only suffered a defeat once, which was more than four years ago. Mumbai FC otherwise, has always managed to get a point from Sporting’s Fatorda stadium.

Last Five Meetings

Remarkably, the last five meetings between the two clubs has failed to produce a winner. Three of the last five meetings have ended in a 1-1 stalemate, that includes last year’s game at the Fatorda Stadium. Apart from that, there has been a 0-0 draw and a 2-2 draw between the two sides.

However, with a much stronger team compared to previous seasons, and with a defence that has successfully shackled Ranti Martins and Cornell Glenn this season, Mumbai Fc might just be ready to register their first win on Goan soild against Sporting Clube de Goa
