Rhino and Miners ‘B’ register identical wins

17th November 2016: Rhino faced Wellington Catholic Gymkhana in MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) First Division, whereas, Miners ‘B’ locked horns against SOSM in MDFA Second Division at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on Thursday.

In the first division Group C match, Rhino and Wellington Catholic Gymkhana put up a great fight in a highly intense match at St. Xavier’s Ground. A lone goal by Sanket in the second-half proved to be decisive as Rhino registered a narrow 1-0 win over Wellington Catholic Gymkhana.

Both the teams had their fair chance of opportunity but neither manages to pull the final blow when it actually mattered. Russell Khan, Jeddy, and Sanket, the trio caused serious problems which inflicted pressure on Wellington Catholic Gymkhana.

It was Sanket’s sublime strike in the 62nd minute which snatched all three points in the end for Rhino. With this win, Rhino has won their second game in three games.

In the second division Group E match, Miners ‘B’ and SOSM played out a fine game which saw Miners ‘B’ registering a 1-0 win, courtesy of Joseph D’Cruz strike at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel.

Miners ‘B’ started off pretty well as they kept the majority of the ball possession to keep a tight pressure on their counterpart. The deadlock was broken in the 27th minute when Joseph D’Cruz scored a brilliant goal to put Miners ‘B’ in front.

With this win, Miners ‘B’ has registered their first win of their Group Stages, whereas, SOSM is also stuck with three points in four games.
