Spartans academy tame Goans SA.
Two second half goals from Bobby & Nishad saw Goans go down to Spartans Academy. Goans kicked off the second game of the day against Spartan here at St.Xavier’s ground, Parel. Goans looked more of a compact unit but Spartans did all the attacking through out the first half, but Spartans could not find the net. On the other hand Goans were constantly on the back foot trying to put away the attacks.
Spartans, in the second half went all out on attack to make the next 40minutes count. Spartans attacked with zeal and their efforts paid off in the 57th minute when Bobby headed into the open goal after Goans keeper Akash spilled the ball from the corner. five minutes later Spartan won a free kick after Akash handled the ball outside the box and Nishad’s free kick in the near post was beyond the goalkeepers reach. Spartans kept looking for the third but had to settle with 2 goals.
Goans must be dissapointed as they moved well but communication gaps saw them loose many attacks. Spartans were a happy lot but a few injury concerns for manager Peter, as Sujit picked up a hamstring strain while Pratik had landed awkwardly on his knee.
